Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Tandem app and the website at heytandem.cc, operated by Hey Tandem (“we,” “us”), based in Paris, France. By using Tandem, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Not medical advice

Tandem provides general educational information about pregnancy and is not a medical service. The weekly brief and Nolan’s answers are not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and are not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. Always seek the advice of a doctor or midwife with questions about a medical condition. If you think there is a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately.

Who can use Tandem

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use Tandem.

Your data and your device

Tandem is local-first: your content is stored on your device, not on our servers. We do not provide cloud backup. If you delete the app, reset your profile, or lose your device, that data may be permanently lost. You are responsible for your device and for any backups you choose to keep.

Nolan and AI-generated content

Nolan generates responses using a third-party AI model. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Use judgment and verify anything important, especially health-related information, with a professional. You agree not to use Nolan to generate unlawful, harmful, or abusive content, or to attempt to reverse engineer or disrupt the service.

Subscriptions and billing

• Nolan is offered as an auto-renewing subscription. The weekly brief is available without a subscription.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
• Prices and plans may change. We will give notice of material changes where required.

Intellectual property

Tandem, including its content, design, illustrations, and the Nolan and Tandem names, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell, or redistribute the app or its content.

Third-party services

Tandem relies on third parties including Apple, RevenueCat, our AI model provider, and Cloudflare. Your use of those services through Tandem is also subject to their terms.

Disclaimers

Tandem is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information provided is accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of Tandem. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under French law.

Termination

You may stop using Tandem at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end the service, in whole or in part, at any time.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Continued use of Tandem after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by French law. Subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live, the courts of Paris, France have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these Terms.
