Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Tandem (“Tandem,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the Tandem iOS app and the website at heytandem.cc. Tandem is operated by Hey Tandem, the data controller, based in Paris, France

The short version

Most data remains on your device. When you use Nolan, your message and relevant pregnancy and conversation context are sent to our service and AI provider solely to generate a response. We do not run accounts, and we process limited data needed to manage a subscription.

Information stored on your device

The app stores the following locally, on your phone, in its own database:

• Your profile: due date, the names you enter, and delivery preferences. These remain stored locally, but relevant profile details, including names, due date, and multiples, may be sent when you make a Nolan request.
• Your briefs: the weekly content you read in the app.
• Your conversations with Nolan: messages are stored locally. A message you submit and recent conversation context are sent for processing when you use Nolan.
• Your reminders: reminders you ask Nolan to create.

Deleting the app removes this locally stored data from your device. “Redo onboarding” resets your profile, but does not remove existing Nolan conversations or briefs.

Information sent when you use Nolan

Nolan is the assistant inside Tandem. When you send Nolan a message, the message, recent conversation context, and relevant profile details are sent through our service to our AI provider to generate a response. This can include optional names, due date, multiples, pregnancy week, locale, region, time zone, and an anonymous installation ID. This processing is subject to the provider’s terms and privacy practices. We do not sell your conversations or use them to build a profile of you.

Subscriptions and payments

Nolan is offered as a subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and subscription status is managed using RevenueCat. We receive limited, non-payment information such as an anonymous app user identifier, your entitlement status, and transaction metadata. We never receive your card number or full payment details. Calendar and reminders

With your permission, Tandem can read from and write to your device calendar and reminders, so Nolan can track appointments and nudges you ask for. This access stays on your device and your associated Apple account. We do not receive a copy of your calendar.

The website

The website at heytandem.cc is a marketing page. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard server logs (such as IP address and request data) to deliver and secure the site. If you join a waitlist or contact us by email, we use the email address you provide to reply or to notify you about availability. contact@heytandem.cc

What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not include advertising SDKs or ad trackers.
• We do not run third-party behavioral analytics on your in-app data.

Data retention

Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete the app. Resetting your profile does not remove existing Nolan conversations or briefs. Information processed to provide Nolan, and information handled by third parties (Apple, RevenueCat, the AI provider, and Cloudflare), is retained according to the applicable service providers’ policies.

Children

Tandem is intended for adults who are expecting a child. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Your rights

Tandem is operated from France, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Because most of your data never leaves your device, you can exercise the core of these rights yourself by editing or deleting your data in the app. For anything else, contact us at contact@heytandem.cc.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above.
